What is an Authorized Economic Operator Status Certificate?

An Authorized Economic Operator Status Certificate is granted by the Ministry of Customs and Trade to companies fulfilling specific requirements. The basic purpose of this certificate is to facilitate the customs formalities at Customs of the Turkish Republic for holders of this certificate.

After being entitled, holders of this certificate shall obtain several advantages in all customs formalities at customs offices in comparison to non-holders of this certificate.

The most important one of these advantages is the Green Line facilitation. Thanks to the Green Line facilitation, the import formalities of companies having this certificate shall be completed without being subject to any control or inspection with exclusion of some exceptions.

The vehicles controlled by carriers holding this certificate are given priority while passing through border gates.

Besides, the exporters, importers and carriers are allowed to accomplish their customs formalities in their facilities in a simplified way without bringing the items that they own or carry to any customs office.

They may also take advantage of facilitations such as issuing and approving their A.TR Movement certificates by themselves, getting preference for items subject to any certificate control or inspection, right for under-declaration of goods and benefiting from Partial or Lump Sum Guarantee application.
